Set GMail as default mail client application on any browser
With a simple registry change you can set GMail as default mail handler on a browser of your choice.
These instructions apply only to those who have a Microsoft operating system:)
Open the Registry Editor regedit writing on the bar, make / find.
Within the log in the left panel, bring on the path HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT \\ mailto \\ shell \\ open \\ command .
On the right panel you will find a key of type REG_SZ called (Default)
Double-click the key you can edit the content.
Depending on the browser you want to use to choose the input string among those below (highlighted in bold ):
INTERNET EXPLORER
"C: \\ Program Files (x86) \\ Internet Explorer \\ iexplore.exe" https: / / mail.google.com / mail? extsrc = mailto & url = 1%
MOZILLA FIREFOX
"C: \\ Program Files (x86) \\ Mozilla Firefox \\ firefox.exe" https: / / mail.google.com / mail? extsrc = mailto & url =% 1
OPERA
"C: \\ Program Files (x86) \\ Opera \\ Opera.exe" https: / / mail.google.com / mail? extsrc = mailto & url =% 1
CHROME
"C: \\ Users \\ username \\ AppData \\ Local \\ Google \\ Chrome \\ Application \\ chrome.exe "- app = https: / / mail.google.com / mail? extsrc = mailto & url =% 1
SRWare Iron (CHROMIUM-BROWSER)
"C: \\ Program Files (x86) \\ SRWare Iron \\ iron.exe" - app = https: / / mail.google.com / mail? Extsrc = mailto & url =% 1
Once you have copied and pasted the string you want, and click OK and you're done!
for Chrome and Iron need to replace username with your username (Windows).
For those who have an operating system 32-bit strings above should be modified slightly: Program Files (x86) Program Files becomes .
This procedure can be extended to other browsers (like Safari ...) and alternative to other online services GMail, if you have problems or suggestions feel free to leave a comment and I will answer as soon as possible.
