The pun is probably inherent in the title, which contains in itself an "unidentified object". In fact, the shape of the photo exhibit could pensare a un UFO, o qualcosa del genere.

Dunque il cielo notturno ("night sky"), viola o blu ("purple, or blue") sembrerebbe percorso da civiltà extraterrestri? Tale la giustificazione dell'acrostico di questi versi: HOPE (lo stesso di gennaio)?

Ecco però che, sul versante metalinguistico, quell'oggetto non si sa cosa significhi ("ever to mean what?"); si resta così tra gli enigmi cui ci ha abituato Poerio.

E il vetro? Con la sua fragilità? Anche, tuttavia, con la sua luce, come la si nota nell'immagine, contrapposta al buio del cielo.
